New phone
Monday, August 8, 2005 at 12:02PM It's official. I am finally retiring my old i90 cell phone and getting up to the times with a new phone with a color screen and cool ring tone capability. I opted not to get one with a camera because I felt that the extra 50 bucks would not justify something that I probably would hardly ever use. If I'm in a situation where I want to take pictures, I usually have my Cannon at the ready. So I stopped in at the extremely busy Nextel store at the mall and inquired about the i760. The sales rep told me that they would charge a $35 processing fee to set up the phone, but if I did it over the phone, there would be no charge. So I left and called the 800 number and ordered my phone. But why the difference in charges? Perhaps the $35 at the store is for the privilege of talking to someone from this country who speaks coherant English, unlike the 800 number.
