I was shopping at Jewel today when I saw a familiar face. It was a girl I knew from high school, but not someone who I neccessarily wanted to strike up a conversation with. I did my best to avoid her while shopping for items for falafel night. I thought I got away scott free when I made my way to check out. But there she was, she came out of nowhere and somehow got in line ahead of me. She looked at me and we exchanged smirks. Did she still remember me? I think she did. But we did not say hi. So it was kinda weird. She checked out and I loaded my groceries on the conveyor belt right behind her stuff. At this point, I wanted to say hi, but it was too late. We never again made eye contact, and she left the store.
