Apartment Entry Systems

I delivered a pizza last night to the "Sanctuary" apartments in Lake Villa. I remember checking out them out on the internet when I was apartment hunting a couple years ago. They seem pretty nice. "I wouldn't mind living here," I thought to myself as I pulled into the complex. I then parked and went to the entryway with a pizza. This is where my appreciation for the complex went downhill. Now, most apartments have buzzer buttons on the outside that correspond with the apartment number. If I was delivering to apartment 302, I would hit the button that says "302". This place was not like that. Instead, it has a little electronic screen. To buzz an apartment, you have to scroll through a long list of the last names of everyone that lives on the entire premises. Once you finally find the last name of the person you are looking for, there is a 3 or 4 digit code (totally different than the apartment number) which you then have to enter on a keypad. Once you enter the code, it calls the phone of the corresponding apartment. Once the person answers, they can now buzz you in. What's in store next for apartment buzzers? Are they going to make you solve a math equation in order to buzz someones apartment? I'm not saying that it's that difficult to look through a list of names...but what the hell is the point?! I can see if it was a 20 story high-rise with hundreds of apartments. But it's only 3 floors and probably has no more than 12 apartments per front door. So why not just have buttons to individual apartments like everyone else? This stupid buzzer system just could have been a deciding factor in me not wanting to live there if I was actively looking for apartments.
