Slinky...the aging hamster

Slinky is an aging hamster. For a hamster over 2 years old, he is quite healthy. But he's showing other signs that he aging. Like the length of his toenails. They are almost like hooks coming out of his back toes. When I let him run around the apartment, Slinky manages to get his nails caught on carpets, scarves, socks, or whatever textiles that happen to be laying on the floor. After such an occurence, I decided enough was enough. I took on the task of clipping his nails. Let me tell ya, trying to trim a hamster's toenails is not an easy job. But I was able to do it after a few tries.
