Cold Case Files: Papa Johns Edition
Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 3:03PM In the summer of 2001, a Papa Johns delivery driver named Dan Heuser purchased a Game Boy Advanced, the newest portable gaming device at the time. He had not owned it for long when he decided to bring it into his workplace to play when the store was not busy. When business picked up, he put the Game Boy on the desk in the office and went out to deliver a pizza.
Upon returning to the store, he discovered that his Gameboy was gone! It was no longer sitting on the desk where he left it. The office was not accessible to the general public, so it had to be another employee who took it. And so, a criminal investigation ensued. All on-duty employees were subject to intense questioning. One employee, by the name of Jon Pachall, was the main suspect in the case. He had been in the office and was a notorious gamer and lover of personal electronics. Pachall denied all the allegations. Lack of evidence and witnesses failed to obtain a search warrant. And so...the case went cold...that is, until the summer of 2006.
A new employee began working at Papa Johns in 2006. Her name was Heather Serlick. Dan Heuser thought she looked familiar, like he met her somewhere before. It wasn't until a few months later that he discovered where he new her.
Heather Serlick's last name used to be Pachall. She was married to Jon during the time in which the Game Boy was stolen. She has since divorced him and remarried. Dan questioned her about Jon and the Game Boy. She recalls him bringing home a Game Boy Advanced one day. He asked where he got it from. He said that he borrowed it from his friend Jack. She talked to the friend some time later, and he told her that he has never owned a Game Boy Advanced and that Jon did not borrow it from him.
Heather also stated that Jon was notorious for lying, stealing and getting in trouble with the law. This is one of the reasons why she ultimately divorced him.
This new evidence has re-opened the case which has gone cold for 5 years. However, Jon Pashall is nowhere to be found. If you have any information about the whereabouts of Jon Paschall, please email Crimestoppers at dan@danheuser.com Crimestoppers wants your information, not your name.

Dan,
I'm sooooo sorry to hear about your Game Boy Advance...but glad to hear that the case didn't go cold forever! It's too bad that you can't find the perp and reclaim your property. I wish you the best of luck...hopefully there's some good, duty-bound citizen out there who will help lead you to the reunion of your long-lost electronics!
