I Ate Spock's Cheese
Monday, January 15, 2007 at 5:35PM How does one get themselves into the situation where they have the opportunity to eat Spock's cheese? Well, I will tell you.
On Saturday night, we were shooting a package for a Comcast Network show. The subject of the package was Leonard Nimoy, most famously known for his "Spock" character in the original Star Trek series. Mr. Nimoy was speaking at a theatre in Crystal Lake. He talked to the crowd about his experiences shooting the Star Trek series... he had many interesting stories. After shooting some of the show, we were escorted backstage into the green room. It was here where we would set up for a one-on-one interview with Spock. We were done setting up and were still waiting for him to come back there when we noticed a tray of cheese cubes sitting on a table. I had not eaten any dinner, so I couldn't help myself. I ate Spock's cheese.
He eventually entered the room to do the interview. Luckily, we had already swallowed all the cheese that we had consumed. The interview only lasted 5 minutes or so and then Spock had to leave. He never found out about the cheese, or else I'm sure I would have gotten a Vulcan Nerve Pinch.
